MASTER FAY, POETIC CHAMPION and WITZ END all produced encouraging work preparing for weekend racing. 

Galloping on the outside of a slow/ heavy No4 grass:

MASTER FAY was most impressive when maintaining a strong clip from the 1000m timed in 1.4.3, sprinting the concluding 600m in 37.3.

He had difficulty handling the conditions when finishing back in the Foxbridge Plate last start.

The expected firm track this weekend should see him back to his best form.

POETIC CHAMPION enhanced his Hawkes Bay Guineas chances with lovely solo work over 1200m run in 1.24.5 the final 600m in 37.7.

WITZ END, although not fully extended caught the eye from the 1000m in 1.9.3 the 600m in 40.3.

MUSTANG VALLEY, who will take her place in Saturday’s Arrowfield Stud Plate left the last 1000m of 1200m behind in 1.8.1 the final 600m in 39.5. She hasn't raced since the Foxbridge Plate but was successful in a Rotorua trial last week.  She is working very well and should race according, especially if any rain about. 

BELARDI and RICHARD AND I were on terms throughout 1000m timed in 1.9.1 and 38.7. 

BELARDI could be on for odds in the Guinness. 

EL VENCEDOR strode comfortably over 1400m increasing pace from the 600m in 40.

ROEDERER looked fit when clocked the concluding 1000m of 1200m in 1.13 home in 41.

CANON HILL had SLIPPER ISLAND for a mate from the 1000m in 1.10 the final 600m in 39.6. 

IMPERIAL EMPRESS ran the last 600m of work in 42.3.

FORCE OF NATUE and HINEHAKA completed their final 600m of 1000m in 40.

BALLISTIC MISS and THE DEVINER were clocked from the 600m in 41.4.

IMPENDABELLE came in from the 800m in 58 and 41.1.

THE GREENKEEPER left 1200m behind in 1.24.6 the 600m in 40.1.

BOURBON EMPRESS came to the end of 1000m in 1.9 home in 40.

LANIKAI and ACQUARELLO ran 1000m in 1.9.2 the 600m in 40.4.

On the sand:

SUPER PHOTON, one of two Marsh trained three-year olds entered for the Hawkes Bay Guineas came in nicely from the 1000m in 1.9 the final 600m in 41.3.

The other, KIWI SKYHAWK was given an easy task from the 1000m timed in 1.11.3 and 42.6.

AUTUMN BREEZE and ARCTIC TIDE ran 800m in 54 and40.3.

BASO ROC was clocked from the 600m in 42.2.

TOSSUFORIT cut 1000m out in 1.9.3 and 39.

ZEE SHADOW and MORNING COCO were sent 800m the final 600m in 39.6.

MISS MARTINI ran an easy 400m in 30.3.

PACIFICO completed the last 600m of 800m in 39.8.

PROCHESTER was clocked 600 in 40.

HARD ROCKER follow in 41.1.

MERCHANT OF GREECE ran 800m in 56.4 and 41.7.

BIG EXIT and WYNDSONG strode 1000m in 1.13 home in 41.3.

ELOISE ran her 1000m in 1.8.4 and 39.3.

WREN came in from the 800m in 55.3 and 40.

JUSTADUDE left 800m behind in 55.7 and 40.7.
