Join us oncourse on Saturday 6th February 2027 for the iconic Legends Day. 

A day where not only are Waikato Thoroughbred Racing's two Group 1 features run and won, it's also a celebration of racing legends throughout history with nine racetrack champions now living the retired life set to grace Te Rapa with their presence. If you think you might want to make more of the day, we've got a range of hospitality options available too that will suit all styles and budgets. 

Bringing the younger members of the tribe?  We'll have kids entertainment available including a bouncy castle, pony rides and face painting from 12 - 4pm and you can pick up a free kids pack from the Raceday Office as well. 

Those aforementioned Group 1 features are the G1 Herbie Dyke Stakes and the G1 BCD Group Sprint and they are supported by not one, but two Group 2 races - the David & Karyn Ellis Fillies Classic and the Legacy Lodge Waikato Guineas - plus 5 other races on the card. 

A day that's the perfect combination of top tier racing action, delightful hospitality and family fun, we'd love to see you oncourse.

Summer might be clocking off and uni is calling… but not before one final send-off.

Legends Day is one of your last chances to soak up the sunshine, the soundtrack and the spectacle of racing and we’re doing it properly. Entry is free, a DJ is spinning all day on the Front Lawn, the food trucks are firing, bars are flowing, and the on track action delivers from the first jump to the last.

Big energy. Bold vibes. Legends Day is shaping up as the must-do post-summer play.
