Waikato Thoroughbred Racing is seeking an enthusiastic and driven person to join our Grounds Staff team based at Te Rapa Racecourse. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone that enjoys working outside in a beautiful environment.
Whilst the role is for a Grounds Person, the ideal candidate will be passionate to learn more about sports turf and will be offered the opportunity to gain qualifications in this field. You will be working alongside an experienced and knowledgeable team, specialising in the equine industry.
Reporting to the Racecourse Manager we would expect applicants to thrive working in a team environment. Experience in operating tractors, mowers and small plant and equipment would be advantageous. Driving license essential.
Duties will include:
- Preparing tracks for training and racing
- Mowing of all grounds
- Cleaning of stalls
- Attending trackwork
- Moving running rails
- General grounds duties
- Preparing facilities for functions and events
