With no local meeting this Saturday few gallops took place.
Andrew Forsman has a good chance of improving on his solid start to the season with two decent chances at Wanganui this weekend, SAINT BATHENS and BELARDI.
On a heavy no4 grass:
SAINT BATHENS, who has been returning encouraging gallops recently, completed 800m in 55 with the final 600m in 39.4. He lines up in the open 1200m. He has won fresh over the same distance on heavy ground prior and looks a winning prospect.
BELARDI won't have any problems handling the wet conditions expected in Saturday's Wanganui Guineas. He worked comfortably from the 800m in 57.1 the 600m in 40.5.
WITZ END and DI MAGGIO did well together from the 1000m in 1.9.6, sprinting the concluding 600m in 38.4.
ROEDERER and LANIKAI were on terms throughout 1000m in 1.9.8 home in 38.8.
MUSTANG VALLEY, who ran an eye catching fresh up race in the Foxbridge last week was sent 800m clocked in 57.6 and 41.3.
On the poly track:
AGERA and HIGH COUNTRY worked nicely over 1200m run in 1.18.7, sprinting the final 600m in 36.
ARCHAIC SMILE ran a nice solo 1000m in 1.5 dashing the final 600m in 35.8.
AMBITIOUS FLUKE followed with 800m the last 600m in 36.5.
RUSSIAN SATIRE was sent 800m the concluding 600m in 37.4.
SPORTING CHANCE worked in from the 600m in 37.7.
KITTY FLASH cut 1000m out in 1.6 and 37.7.
OVERDRAWN and CANNON HILL were paired over 1000m in 1.5.7 and 36.3.
RUDYARD returned 1.8.3 and 40.8 for an easy 1000m.
