Cambridge Trackwork Report 1 September 2026

Proisir Plate favourite Well Written looked in fantastic order ahead of her fresh-up run this Saturday, with the unbeaten Written Tycoon mare working off from the 1000m mark and running home her final 600m in 39.8.

Trainer Stephen Marsh also presents a strong hand in the Proisir Plate, with two other entrants impressing on the Cambridge tracks this morning. Media World, who was a gallant second in the Group 2 Waikato Stud Foxbridge Plate at his last start, worked home in 39.7, while stablemate Tardelli, who finished fifth in the Foxbridge Plate, stopped the clock in 39.6.

From the Roger James and Robert Wellwood stable, Group One winner She’s A Dealer impressed ahead of her Proisir Plate assignment, working home stylishly in 39.2 and looking in great order for Saturday’s feature.

Others from the James/Wellwood stable included Excite, a stakes winner when last seen and heading to Saturday’s Rich Hill Stud 3yo 1400, who worked home in a quick 37.8. The Precursor who lines up in the last race at Ellerslie on Saturday, completed his work in 38.4, Hephaestus in 40.5, while trial-winning three-year-old filly Gigi’s Prayer, by St Mark’s Basilica, was nicely held together in 43.8. Zivou ran 40.2, while Street Boss three-year-old filly Top Boss joined stablemate unnamed Ace High/Plucky Miss, with the pair working home in 42.0.

From the Foote stable, Drommy worked alongside stablemate Card Shark, a recent trial winner, with the pair impressively coming home in a quick 37.9. Foote also produced Youmustbejoking, who galloped home his final 600m in 40.9.

Shane Crawford paired Positive Plus and Small Fort, with the pair working home in 42.4.

Working boldly from the Pike stable, Cannon Hill looked in good order coming home in 38.7. Truly Divine joined Admiral Vos, with the pair matching strides from the 900m and working home in 38.9. Argo ran 43.1, Autumn Eve 42.9, while Hong Kong returnee and recent trial winner Hervey Bay came home in 38.9 and is entered at Ellerslie in the MAAT 1200m.

Also from the Pike stable, Deep Pursuit worked home in 39.0, Intan in 39.6, while Tarzino filly Grocers Girl, a runner-up in the Listed Champagne Stakes at her last start, stopped the clock in 39.7 and heads to Ellerslie on Saturday for the Rich Hill Stud 3yo 1400m. Eliud completed his work in 39.4.

The Forsman stable joined three-year-olds Rough ’N’ Tough and The Last Alliance, with the pair returning 39.6 for their final 600m. Chaos Creator worked home in 40.6, while consistent Zed gelding Zanzibar was another to gallop nicely, running 40.9 and looks set to make his presence felt at New Plymouth in the ITM Interprovincial rating 82 1600.

Multiple Group One Winner El Vencedor looks to be coming up in great order, working home in 40.2.

Others from the Marsh stable included Financier, who ran 40.2, Kiwi Skyhawk 42.1, last-start winner Erin Go Bragh 39.8, and stakes-winning Snitzel mare Little Black Dress42.9.

Last-start synthetic winner Mulan Ardeche worked home in 40.7, while Home Affairs three-year-old filly Miss Janet ran 40.3. Last-start Group Three placegetter La Diem completed her work in 40.6, while Hakushu, a last-start winner, ran 41.1.

Circus Trix worked home in 41.9, Hidden Achievement in 41.0, Los Salsero 42.3, Feel The Stag 41.0, Rose Aye Reign 40.5, and Genie 39.9 a runner at Ellerslie on Saturday.

Last-start winner Oberon completed his work in 41.0, while Navy Dreams was nicely held together in 43.3. Magic Carpet was also kept under a good hold, working home in 43.1, with Hello Angel completing the morning’s gallops in 40.5.
