Saturday’s WFA 1600m classic favourite ORCHESTRAL showed she has improved further since her last start victory with pleasing work. 

Galloping on the plough:

She was traveling well throughout 1400m timed in 1.33.7 dashing the concluding 600m in 36.9.

Her condition cannot be faulted. 

EL VENCEDOR, who appears ORCHESTRAL’S main danger at Ellerslie, was kept under a firm hold when clocked from the 1000m in 1.9 the final 600m in 39. He has gone to another level this campaign.

Avondale Guineas candidate BOURBON PROOF left 1400m behind in 1.37.1 the 600m in 40.1. 

Stablemate and race rival KIWI SKYHAWK was also sent 1400m coming from the 600m in 39.8.

DELT WITH came to the end of 1200m in 1.20 sprinting the concluding 600m in 38.2.

DIONYSUS worked in nicely from the 1000m in 1.8.9 and 40.

OCEANA DREAM and GREY AREA were together throughout 1600m clocked in 1.51.7 the final 600m in 38.5.

SHE’S UNTOUCHABLE cut 1000m out in 1.9.4 and 40.3. 

C'EST MOI ran the last 600m of 1000m in 39.2.

FILLYGIZALOOK came from the 600m in 40.1. 

PENMAN was timed from the 600m in 38.9.

I'M ALL IN strode 1000m in 1.11.3 home in 41.

SAKO worked well over 1000m run in 1.9 and 39.1.

GOLDILICIOUS and COSMIC PURSUIT were given easy work over 600m in 43.3.

PINK GIN and IS THAT ALL were not pushed over 400m in 29.2. 

DEEP PURSUIT and REVUELTO matched strides over 1000m in 1.9 and 39.

GLAMOUR TYCOON ran the final 600m of 1000m in 39.7.

SEXY AND I MOET came in from the 600m in 40.1.

OVERHEATED and ARUNDEL CASTLE were on terms throughout 1000m in 1.8.7 and 38.1.

On the back plough:

ROEDERER looked fit heading into this weekend’s Avondale Cup when running the last 1200m of 1600m in 1.24.5 home in 39.9.

GOLDEN CENTURY and AMAZING FLUKE left 1000m Behind in 1.8.9 the final 600m in 38.6.

BOOMBOX and IMA WARRIOR followed in 1.9.1 home in 38.9.

OVERDRAWN and DIMAGGIO were timed from the 600m in 40.1. 

CHEVAL D’OR strode comfortably over 1000m in 1.10.3 home in 40.

VOLTESSA came from the 600m in 39.4.

AEGON and MARY SHAN, who run in this weekend's WFA classic ran 1000m in 1.8 sprinting the final 600m in 38.2. Both should be competitive. 

HINEKAHA and MOONLIGHT MAGIC, preparing for Ellerslie worked nicely over 1200m run in 1.24.5 home in 40. Both should race well.

MASTER MORGAN and PROCHESTER ran 1200m in 1.25.7 and 39.
