Cambridge Trackwork Report
A frost greeted trainers at Cambridge on Tuesday morning, with horses galloping on a Soft 6 grass track and several spring hopefuls producing eye-catching work.
Stephen Marsh-trained Tardelli was one of the standout workers on the grass, the son of I Am Invincible impressing with a slick 39.8 for his final 600m. Stablemate Media World, a Written Tycoon entire, was nicely held throughout his work, recording 41.1. Both gallopers appear to be progressing well towards their respective spring campaigns.
The well-related Hebridean Way, by Frankel, also pleased with his work on the grass, running home smartly in 39.9.
Andrew Forsman's team had several promising youngsters on the course. Walkin In Memphis, the two-year-old colt by Too Darn Hot, continued to build on the promise shown in his early appearances, recording the quickest grass sectional of the morning with 38.9 for his last 600m. Unraced Wootton Bassett filly Indian Ink also worked stylishly, stopping the clock in 39.9.
Forsman also put a sizeable team through their paces on the front sand. Elle Sourit was among the quickest, recording 39.9, while Hard Roca (40.1), Rambling On (40.1), The Last Alliance (40.1), Zippity (40.1), Wulver (40.2), Boss Voss (40.3), Vitalize (40.3) and Rough N Tough (40.6) all worked well.
Others to complete useful gallops included Artissimo (41.0), Strathisla (41.3), Shestheone (41.7), Lassified (41.8), Rhaena (41.9), Adriatico (42.1), Pocket Money (42.0) and Chilling Out (43.9). Just Cruisin also galloped, while promising two-year-old Exceeding Joy, who finished second at her only trial, worked alongside stablemate Nambawan working home in 43.6.
In-form hurdler My Maebelline Girl caught the eye, striding out well over 1000m and running her final 600m in 40.7.
The Kingsclere stable also unveiled several exciting spring prospects. Stakes-winning juvenile Excite, the son of Wootton Bassett, was given an easy time, running home in 44.5. Group One-winning mare She's A Dealer continued her preparation with a comfortable 43.8, while Arabian Songbird (45.0), The Precursor (46.0), Fairy Dream (46.1) and impressive trial winner Shore Breeze (46.0) all worked quietly. Pearling Crown produced a sharper effort, running home in 41.0.
Stephen Marsh's remaining runners completed their work on the sand, headed by Allthekingshorses (41.0) and Tip Top (41.0). Others included Perfect Pour (42.0), Khalessi (42.2), Miss Janet (42.5), Ignore Me Not (42.5), Mulan Ardeche (43.0), Raymond (44.3) and Shesabitdirty (44.7).
