Multiple stakes performer Mary Shan opened the morning's trackwork session in impressive fashion, the Andrew Forsman-trained mare working stylishly over the final 600m in 38.9.

Forsman had a strong team on the track, headed by lightly raced Zanzibar, who looked in good order running home his final 600m in 39.7. Last-start Matamata winner Wanganella pleased with a 39.4, while promising Ardrossan three-year-old Tomahawk also impressed, recording 39.7.

Berry Brown rounded off her work in 40.0, Show Your Ace completed his final 600m in 39.9, and Walkin In Memphis, who heads to Ruakaka on Saturday, looked ready for the assignment, covering 800m in 54.0 and the final 600m in 39.2.

Madammanzor worked over 800m in 56.0, finishing with 40.8, while fellow Ruakaka runner Indian Ink pleased with a comfortable 40.4. Confianza produced one of the sharper efforts of the morning, recording 54.0 for the 800m and a slick 38.8 over the final 600m.

Tony Pike's team also produced several eye-catching gallops. Astoria Brooke and Hathaway worked together from the 1000m, finishing off strongly with a final 600m in 38.7. Eleven-time winner Churchillian strode home comfortably in 40.4, while Double Edged and Dorado matched strides to record 40.7.

Promising Almanzor gelding Eluid looked in good order with 40.1, a time matched by Ashoka. Stakes-placed juvenile Grocer's Girl worked stylishly in 40.6, while The Sancy and Dragons Gift paired up to return the same time.

Admiral Vos caught the eye finishing strongly in 39.4, while Per Incanto two-year-old filly Via Fontenella pleased with a smart 40.2. Rounding out Pike's timed gallops were Quantum Elixer and Quantum Dragon, who worked together to record 40.7 for their final 600m.
